PETER GABRIEL NEEDED OUR HELP

It was late morning just after the famous Nisqually earthquake struck Seattle when Peter asked for our help to mount the "World of Music and Dance" festival in the United States. We met at the historic Olympic Hotel in Seattle, despite the building damage and an eerie sense of wonder at mother natures raw power. We were a little nervous about the situation, but WOMAD USA

wouldn't wait.

Working in collaboration with Peter Gabriel's production company, Real World, we set off on an

eye-popping adventure into the world of international music and dance.

After months of planning, negotiating and designing and redesigning, WOMAD USA emerged and opened the country's eyes and hearts to the wonder of performance from around the world, highlighting the power of the human spirit as expressed through music, dance and art.
